Woman seen being hit and put into car in 'domestic incident' in Tynemouth

Police are appealing for help in tracing the people involved in the incident on Percy Park Road in Tynemouth on Friday night

Police have issued an appeal after a woman was seen being hit and then put into a car on a Tynemouth street .

Officers are appealing for help in tracing the people involved in what is believed to be a domestic incident.

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said they received a report of concern for a woman in Percy Park Road at 11.40pm on Friday night.

They say the woman had been walking in the street with a man who hit her causing her to fall to the ground.

A spokesperson said: “Officers believe the incident is domestic related and want to ensure the woman is OK, and are keen to trace those involved.”

The vehicle has been described as a ‘souped up boy racer’ blue VW Lupo.

Anyone who witnessed the incident in Tynemouth last night, or has information about the vehicle or those involved, is asked to contact Northumbria Police on 101 quoting reference 1387 080917 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
