Distraught Rosemary Crouch, 67, who is battling a brain tumour, had her handbag containing irreplaceable mementos of her beloved spouse Ronald stolen from her car. The ex-policewoman, who also lost £100 cash, said: "I'm absolutely devastated. My whole life was in that bag."
"It has been a horrible year. This has just about been the straw that broke the camel's back. Just knowing how to cancel all the credit cards was bad enough.
"I don't expect to get the money back but I would absolutely love to get my husband's card holder back.
"If anyone knows anything I will donate money to charity, it's not about the value. The holder was so very, very emotionally precious and has no value to anyone else. My life has been on hold since it happened."
She described what happened as "the final kick in the teeth" and urged anyone who may have seen what happened to get in touch with police.
