Magistrates issue order for New Dragon Buffet on Albert Road

A RESTAURANT in Widnes has been closed after environmental health staff from Halton Borough Council believed it posed an ‘imminent risk to health’.

A council spokeswoman said that North Cheshire Magistrates Court have issued a Food Hygiene Prohibition Order against New Dragon Buffet on Albert Road.

The spokeswoman said: “In the opinion of officers the premises posed an imminent risk to health.

“Magistrates found that there was ‘inadequate management of food safety and hygiene, and staff who handled food had insufficient knowledge of the principles of food safety and hygiene in order to produce food that is safe for human consumption’.”

The restaurant’s management of the premises can apply to the council for the order to be lifted once the alleged health risk has been removed.
