THE six-year-old boy who died in Sproatley, East Yorkshire after being "shot with a pellet gun" has been named as Stanley Metcalf.
He was taken ill yesterday afternoon at a house in Church Lane in Sproatley, where he was understood to be while visiting relatives.
The youngster, a keen football fan, was rushed to Hull Royal Infirmary where he later died, according to Humberside Police.
Police cars could still be seen outside the property this afternoon, as police investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.
One man who lives nearby said: "What can you say? It goes out to the family. You can't even guess how they are feeling.
One nearby resident, who did not want to be identified, described the news as "surreal".
