Police are appealing for information about a spate of thefts from motor vehicles near Newton Abbot.

The Ashburton and Chudleigh neighbourhood police team have taken to Facebook to warn about the thefts and to remind residents not to leave valuables in vehicles.

A spokesman for The Ashburton and Chudleigh neighbourhood police team said on Friday: "Over the last two evenings we have had four reported thefts from motor vehicles in the Heathfield area, with potentially another three unreported.

"The thefts occurred in Oliver Place, Lower Cannon Road and Musket Road.

"Please make sure, if you live in Heathfield, that you do not leave any valuables in your vehicles."
