JAMIE THEAKSTON who presents Heart London Breakfast alongside Emma Bunton had the former Spice Girl in tears as he talked about the children he is raising money for.
The 47-year-old radio presenter has taken on a mammoth seven-day marathon challenge as he walks 182.7 miles from Cardiff to London over the course of this week.
Calling into the Heart studio on his fifth marathon Jamie broke down as he spoke about the disadvantaged children and families he met who have joined him on the walk.
Speaking of one encounter Jamie said: "It's easy to get a bit blasé when you're walking with mums who, you know, have lost their kid.
"There was a girl yesterday who was in a chair and she said she didn't have any friends, because she couldn't get out of the house and she couldn't go to school."
He continued: "She said she wanted to come on the walk because I was a superstar. But she's the real superstar."
Emma and her current co-host Jason King were both in tears as Jamie told the story.
Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk Jamie said he was completely out of his "comfort zone" by taking on the seven-day marathon and was worried about the damage to his feet.
He said: “What I’m most scared of [about the marathon] is the physical. My feet getting completely torn up by day two. Without getting too gory but with no skin on your feet and walking for the last four or five days is going to be hellish.”
Jamie admitted his friends and colleagues were completely taken aback when he told them he was going to do the marathon walk but they have shown their support.
