The highly-anticipated new instalment of Channel Nine's Underbelly franchise hit screens on Sunday.
And Underbelly Files: Chopper has certainly sparked a conversation across social media – just not in the way the producers intended.
Much of the hype surrounding the miniseries - which is based on the life of late Melbourne gangster Mark 'Chopper' Read - was inspired by fans' memories of the critically-acclaimed 2000 film Chopper, starring Eric Bana.
Following the premiere, unsatisfied fans took to Twitter to slam the first episode, with many claiming that it just doesn't compare to the film.
'This Chopper Underbelly is all over the place like cockroaches in a kitchen,' one viewer tweeted.
'Watched two minutes of Chopper. It was woeful beyond comprehension,' read another comment.
'Chopper is not the same without Erica Bana, Sorry Channel 9!' tweeted a viewer.
