The Russian military has released footage of a terrifying new piece of weaponry as it beefs up its commitment to develop the nation's armed forces.
Weapons giant Kalashnikov showed off breathtaking footage featuring a robot tank levelling a building with rockets and attacking a compound alongside a group of soldiers.
The video, reportedly shot on a military range in the Moscow region, shows the Soratnik (Companion) tank blasting through walls with powerful missiles.
The tank, which is the size of a small car, is reportedly capable of scouting and patrolling as well as guarding duties.
It is also said to be able to deal with mines and to provide covering fire for troops, but the exact level of autonomy it has remains unclear.
The news comes amid a tranche of upgrades to the Russian military introduced by Vladimir Putin.
This week, he revealed he has a nuclear missile that cannot be intercepted and can hit any spot on Earth.
Putin also demonstrated the full-force of Russia's military capabilities with a series of recent large-scale military manoeuvres.
Other new toys for Russian soldiers included a new military uniform called Group 99 claimed to offer insulation even from Russia's harshest winters.
The day of military testing also featured new motorbikes, buggies and submachine guns called Vityaz, the Russian media reported.
Kalashnikov is most famous for its series of assault rifles including the AK-47 but it also designs and manufactures a wide range of other military equipment.
It makes around 95 per cent of all the small arms sold in Russia and exports to 27 countries.
