A RADIO host stunned a Brexiteer Tory MP by claiming only people who earn over £50,000 a year should be allowed to vote.
Radio host Ash Gould claimed that only Britons who earn £50,000 a year should be allowed to vote because they are the only ones with a “stake in society”. The shocking remark came after talkRADIO host and Remain supporter James Whale insisted that Britons were “very thick and stupid”. Conservative Brexit supporter Mark Francois snapped back at the comments claiming he disagreed with the host on principle.
The Tory MP said: “You’re saying essentially that the British public are a bit thick?”
“Ash and I agree. Ash doesn’t think that anybody who doesn’t earn over £50,000 a year should be allowed to vote.”
Ash stepped in saying: “Well that’s not because they are thick, it’s because they don’t have a stake in society.”
Whale insisted that there are “lots of very thick and stupid people around.”
He added: “None of them listen to this program, the thick and stupid people are watching inane television at this moment.
“This is the whole thing about ‘oh you can’t call them stupid, it might offend them’.
