A prisoner on licence was sent back to jail after police raided a property.
Officers had to snap the lock on the property on Derby Avenue, Acklam on Tuesday.
The man was found inside and was arrested. He was returned to prison on Wednesday.
A post on the Middlesbrough Neighbourhood Policing Team Facebook page said: “Officers from the neighbourhood team attended an address on Derby Avenue in Middlesbrough , with reports of a male at an address who was wanted on recall to prison, after allegedly breaching his licence.
“Officers attended the address and when no one answered the door our ARV unit kindly helped us out by snapping the lock.
“The male was located and arrested for a recall to prison and will be returning there.”
