Police confirm injuries of man hit by car in Devon not as bad as first feared

The man, in his 20s, was hit by a car in Newton Abbot in the early hours of Saturday morning

Police have confirmed that the injuries of a man in his 20s who was hit by a car in Newton Abbot are not life threatening or changing.

His injuries were first thought to be life changing, but now police have confirmed that although his injuries are severe, they aren’t as bad as first feared.

A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "The man was taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth. His injuries are now not believed to be life threatening or life changing.
