THE UK will welcome Donald Trump with a selection of sweet tunes at the black-tie dinner hosted by Theresa May this Thursday as a military band will play him a golden playlist, it has been reported.
The songs, which have been drawn up especially for the US President’s dinner with the Prime Minister at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, include music from both the US and the UK.
The Prime Minister's deputy official spokeswoman said: "The event will begin with a military ceremony in the Great Court performed by the bands of the Scots, Irish and Welsh Guards.
"The bands will play the Liberty Fanfare, Amazing Grace, and the National Emblem.
"During dinner, the Countess of Wessex’s Orchestra will perform a series of classic British and American hits."
The Times also reported the Blenheim repertoire includes the orchestral versions of Gerry and the Pacemakers’ You’ll Never Walk Alone and Elvis Presley’s Can’t Help Falling in Love.
The James Bond theme tune performed by Sheena Easton, For Your Eyes Only, will also be played.
The late Barry White’s You’re the First, the Last, My Everything and the Verve’s Bittersweet Symphony also feature on the list.
Last year, when the Republican firebrand visited Paris, President Emmanuel Macron made him watch a French marching band perform a medley of songs by Daft Punk, including “Get Lucky,” the 2013 Grammy-winning hit.
