Pedestrian in hospital with 'life threatening' injuries after collision with car in Newton Abbot

A man in his 20s is in hospital with 'life threatening' injuries after a serious collision between a pedestrian and a car in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Police and ambulance crews were called to Kingsteignton Road, Newton Abbot at 12.10am on Saturday to the crash which involved a grey VW Passat and a male pedestrian in his 20s.

A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "The man was taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth and his injuries are believed to be life changing.

"He has suffered with injuries to his head and he also has a broken arm and leg."
