'It might cost them' Scot farmers leave SNP for Tories for having 'wrong Brexit attitude'

A GROUP of Scottish farmers have warned the SNP that their approach to Brexit might cost them in the 2017 General Election.

The farmers admitted that the SNP’s Brexit attitude “might cost them” as they spoke to the BBC’s World at One.

Speaking in Moray, which has been an SNP constituency since 1987, a farmer admitted that Nicola Sturgeon’s party could face an uprising on June 8.

He said: “I think there are quite a lot of things going on between Brexit, and the election obviously coming up.

When asked if the SNP would continue to get support in the “heartland” in the north-east of Scotland, the farmer said, “it could be questionable”.

He added: “I think their attitude to the Brexit. I think it might cost them votes.”

Another farmer, who insisted that he would be voting for the Scottish Conservatives in the election, said Brexit was a bigger concern than the June 8 vote, for him.

He said: “I would think [Brexit is] probably the bigger worry for the agricultural community rather than the elections coming along just now.”

Another farmer from Moray insisted that she had not heard any policies that were encouraging for her to vote for any of the major parties.

She added: “It seems to be that we are in a bit of a forgotten corner in this part of the country.
