Both the Democrats and Trump’s party the Republicans are hoping to swing states to their colour and to gain the majority.

Illinois will also choose a governor, an office currently held by a Republican.
There are four candidates running for Illinois governor are incumbent Republican Governor Bruce Rauner, Democrat J.B. Pritzker, Libertarian Kash Jackson and Conservative Sam McCann.
For the House, there are several key states to watch with red (Republican) areas threatening to turn blue (Republican).
