MICKEY JONES, who starred in Home Improvement and Total Recall, has passed away aged 76 after a long battle with an illness.
The stars’ rep Cherry Hepburn told Express.co.uk: “Mickey Jones died at 2:17 AM today of the effects of a long illness. I do not have permission from the family to discuss cause, etc.
The actor, who has drummed for Bob Dylan and Johnny Rivers, was in and out of hospital for the last several months before of his death.
The TV star was widely known for his role as Pete Bilker on the ABC sitcom Home Improvement.
His other movie appearances included Tin Cup, Total Recall and The Last Best Sunday.
In 1967 the star was approached to be the drummer for a new group called The First Edition, with lead singer Kenny Rogers.
The band had a series of hits including Ruby, Don't Take Your Love To Town and Just Dropped In.
