MICHELLE Obama’s memoir Becoming is selling record numbers in the book charts - but how much is the former First Lady worth now?
The wife of former United States President Barack Obama, Michelle Obama spent eight years in the White House as First Lady between 2009 and 2017. Since leaving Washington, Michelle, 54, has delivered several addresses focused on female empowerment. But she has also been using the time to write her memoir, Becoming. And in the short time since its release on November 13, Becoming has already become the United State's best-selling book of 2018.
The title has already sold more than two millions copies in the US and Canada alone, according to NPD BookScan data.
That is not even including other countries, such as the UK, where it is also selling huge volumes.
All of this means former Havard-educated lawyer Michelle is set to be worth a lot more money.
Her book deal with Penguin Random House, agreed last year, is already rumoured to be an eye-watering $65 million for the advance alone.
But her husband Barack is also worth a cool $40 millions, Celebrity Net Worth estimates, meaning their combined wealth is $80 million.
And with Becoming flying off the shelves, the Obama's net worth is likely to sky rocket in the coming year.
