MICHAEL DOUGLAS’ Golden Globe win for the Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series, Musical or Comedy for his role in The Kominsky Method was slammed by viewers on Twitter tonight.
A fourth wrote: “Michael Douglas is such a Hollywood legend that he just won a Golden Globe for a tv show that (I think???) doesn’t exist.”
Despite this, other fans shared videos of the actor praising his 102-year-old father Kirk in his acceptance speech.
Michael began his speech by thanking the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, telling the audience: “For 45 years, you’ve always surprised me and treated me so well.”
He went on to praise the show’s creator Chuck Lorre, adding: “The truth be told, I owe all of this to one man out there — Mr. Chuck Lorre.
“Chuck thinks getting old is funny. Thank you for your exquisite work.”
Michael then praised his wife Catherine Zeta Jones, telling the crowd he loved her “very much”, before dedicating his award to his father.
Concluding his speech, he said: “And I guess this has to go to my 102-year-old father, Kirk.”
