MEGHAN Markle has made a surprise visit to the Hubb kitchen to see first hand how the cookbook she penned with cooks there have helped change the lives of survivors of the Grenfell Tower tragedy.
In a red dress and ankle boots, Meghan cradled her bump as she walked around the Hubb kitchen and chatted to the cooks there during a surprise visit announced by Kensignton Palace mere minutes before she arrived. Kensington Palace tweeted a picture of the Duchess of Sussex’s last visit - before she announced her pregnancy - with several more heartfelt images of her cooking with the volunteers in the kitchen on the River Thames. The Palace announced: “Today, The Duchess of Sussex is visiting the Hubb Community Kitchen to see how the proceeds from ‘Together: Our Community Cookbook’ are already making a difference locally.“The Duchess has made regular private visits to the kitchen since January, which was set up by women from the community affected by the Grenfell Tower fire. Through the power of cooking, the women have been able to connect, heal and look forward.
“The women are now able to use the kitchen seven days a week, and have been empowered to gain qualifications and start their own new projects helping others in their community to benefit from the kitchen.”
They added: “The inclusive ethos of Together has resonated all over the world, and inspired people not just to buy the book, but to cook, eat and gather in their own communities. #CookTogether.”
