MATT TEBBUTT, who replaced James Martin on BBC show Saturday Kitchen in 2017, has revealed which guest he feared coming on to his weekend cooking show and why they surprised him.
Saturday Kitchen host Matt Tebbutt, 45, said he feared Pixie Lott, 28, coming on the show as he was unsure what to speak to her about for an hour and a half. Revealing all, he exclusively told Express.co.uk: “I wasn’t dreading… but one week I had Pixie Lott on… now I’m 45 and I don’t know how old Pixie Lott is but I was thinking ‘What am I going to speak to Pixie Lott about?’ And then you read the notes and you meet the person and all those kind of fears of being too different I suppose, just kind of go.” But despite Matt’s fears, he said the singer was “utterly charming, funny and brilliant.”
He added: “The reason she is so young and she’s where she is and doing what she’s doing is because she’s got something about her.
“With a lot of these comedians, writers and actors and whoever we kind of have on, it’s all about that spark I suppose.
“There’s very few people that I don’t get on with, I mean except for some chefs that kind of rub you up the wrong way.
When quizzed if there is much rivalry between TV chefs, he added: “I honestly don’t think so.
“I am very good friends with Simon Rimmer, he’s got as some would say a rival show on Channel 4 [Sunday Brunch].
“Simon has the same fears as I do, you wonder how long the show is going to go on for, you fear because it’s a live show if you say the wrong thing, because you can upset a lot of people quickly on live TV.
