THE French will be able to claim a “solidarity” tax break in exchange for opening their home to a refugee under a controversial new measure adopted by the nation’s parliament.

Far-right chief Marine Le Pen also excoriated the move, saying in a Twitter post that the Macron administration “sparked outrage every day”.

In a statement published the next day, Mrs Le Pen, a fierce nationalist, denounced the government’s “infernal” migrant housing policy, adding that the tax break would send a “devastating signal” to people smugglers and illegal immigration networks.
