EMMANUEL Macron is set to train an army of sympathisers of his political party in a £6million scheme ahead of the 2019 European Parliament election, which aims to find volunteers and candidates to ‘transform France’.
The aspiring political-enthusiasts will learn what Mr Macron stands for through courses and seminars, which will be conducted by members of the party.
The volunteers will then be trained to campaign for the president in the 2019 European Parliament election.
Macron founded the La Republique en Marche party in 2016 and it aims to be a centrist, pro-European movement that modernises France.
The Executing Officer of the party, Christophe Castanar, said: “We will be monitoring the classes to identify women and men who want to engage.”
The training programme, which has been called “Everything politics” hopes to support the emergence of a generation of progressive political-enthusiasts.
Jean-Louis Fousseret, the president of the programme, said: “In recent years the political life of our country has begun a profound change paving the way for new forces, bringing hope and driven by the ambition to put the French back into the heart of politics.
“Throughout this journey, training plays a role in facilitating transitions and fostering access to responsibilities.”
