The scene on the M40 today caused chaos for rush hour drivers after the route was partly shut off to drivers.
The lorry overturned, trapping the car beneath it, after crashing through the central reservation.
Following the smash, the M40 southbound carriageway was shut between junction 16 for Henley and junction 15 for Warwick from about 7.45am.
The lorry had toppled over on to the silver Mercedes and wrecked part of the central barrier.
Motorists were warned to avoid the area as long delays built up on the M40 and also the adjoining M42.
Warwickshire Police originally said the carriageway was expected to be shut for up to two hours while the scene was cleared.
One lane was reopened at 10am after officers removed debris from the scene.
Police spokeswoman Anne Tugwell added: “There are not thought to be any serious injuries but the incident caused major delays.
West Midlands Ambulance Service said one person involved in the crash had been taken to hospital with a leg injury and suffering back pain.
