The G77+China Group Walks Out of Negotiations on Loss and Damage

The G77+China group of 133 countries has earlier warned that they would walk out of negotiations on Loss and Damage if the rich countries do not change their mind on the same.

But it seems that the latter party have not relent and that made The G77+China group to walk out of the negotiations. The rich countries and especially the US, Australia and Canada were quite firm about a thing that the matter should be discussed after 2015.

Such was not the case with The G77+China group, as they wanted to have all together a different mechanism on Loss and Damage.

It has been said that walking out is an event that does not take place commonly. It indicates one thing and that is there is not enough trust between the countries that are present in the climate talks taking place in Warsaw.

"USA, EU, Australia and Norway remain blind to the climate reality that's hitting us all and poor people and countries much harder. They continue to derail negotiations in Warsaw", said Harjeet Singh, International Coordinator for Disaster Risk Reduction & Climate Adaptation.

Martin Kaizer, Head of the Greenpeace delegation, is not happy with the way the world's governments are acting.
