Emergency school closure after burst water main

A Devon primary school has been closed today after a water main burst.

Chaddlewood Primary School has alerted parents the school will be closed today after suffering a damaged water main.

An announcement on the Plympton school's website raised the alarm, stating more information would be made available direct to parents via email.

Radio Plymouth stated the cause was thought to be builders cutting through a water main. The Herald has not been informed as to whether this was on the school grounds or outside the perimeter in Hemerdon Heights.

The school has assured parents and children tonight's Carol Concert will still go ahead in the church.
