Car on fire on M5 at junction 27

Traffic is reported to be coping well as Devon and Somerset Fire put out the blaze on the hard shoulder

A car is on fire on the M5 causing disruption to traffic heading northbound this morning.

One lane has been closed between J27 A38 / A361 North Devon Link Road (Tiverton) and J26 A38 (Wellington).

Fire crews from Cullompton and Tiverton put out the fire and 50 per cent of the vehicle was damaged.

The hard shoulder and lane one (of three) are closed while the Devon and Somerset fire service puts out the fire.

Traffic England said normal traffic conditions are expected between 08:30 and 08:45 on 29 November 2017.
