Former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star Adam Thomas, 30, who competed on the show in 2016, revealed he wanted to go home after day two because he struggled with being away from his family. The actor has been married to Caroline Daly since last year, and the couple have two children together. Discussing what campmates really get up to off camera, he exclusively told Express.co.uk: “You don’t do anything to be honest with you; it’s quite tough. Just the boredom in there is so hard.
“You only see one hour of a 24-hour day, so what you do see is we are probably doing something but when we are not on camera we are just sat in our hammocks twiddling our thumbs really and missing home, which was a massive thing for me. I just missed home so much.
“You forget that before you even go in there, you’re locked down in the hotel for like 10 days.
“You’ve got your phone taken off you. That’s tough because you’re not allowed to leave the hotel.
“The second day in, I just wanted to go home and see my family, but I’m happy that I stuck it out; there was so much I learned about myself.”
Adam also shared his thoughts on this year’s recently-ended series which was won by Harry Redknapp, 71.
On Twitter, former Emmerdale actor Adam was rooting for Inbetweeners actress Emily Atack, 28, to take the crown, who came second.
He said: “I don’t know her personally, I’ve never met her to be honest with you, but my make-up artist at work is her cousin.
“So I thought you know, I would try and get her some votes if I could but yeah I would have liked her to have won it to be honest but I think the right guy won in the end.
“I’m sure she will do great off the back of that, she’s a great spirit and funny, I’m looking forward to seeing what’s to come for her really.”
