Vitezslav Jaros expected to sign after successful trial with U16s
Liverpool are set to add to their Academy ranks by signing a 15-year-old goalkeeper from Slavia Prague.
Vitezslav Jaros is expected to join the Reds in a £300,000 deal after impressing during a week-long trial on Merseyside.
The teenager has been working with Liverpool’s U16 side at Kirkby, training under the guidance of Academy goalkeeping coach Mark Morris. Jaros was accompanied on the trip by Ludek Miklosko, the former West Ham ‘keeper.
Liverpool will be able to add Jaros to their Academy ranks as their recent FA ban on signing youth players applies only to players from other English clubs. Jaros is expected to move to Kirkby in the summer, with Slavia CEO Martin Krob admitting a deal is in place.
“The agreement exists, now the whole thing we are dealing with it in the summer will see Jaros become a Liverpool player,” Krob said.
Jaros himself told Slavia’s official website: “An internship in a foreign club for me was a great experience.
“I was full of expectations, how will their academy and training be? Ont my first day at the academy I attended my first match against Derby County that we lost, but with my performance, I was happy.
“I think I left a good impression and I hope to be back there in the future.”
