EXTRATERRESTRIAL beings could exist in outer space as star gazers revealed dwarf planet Ceres hosts the building blocks for life.
Organic compounds have been discovered on the surface of huge space rock – the largest object in the asteroid belt – which exists between orbits of Mars and Jupiter, science boffins have revealed.
“Ceres has evidence of ammonia-bearing hydrated minerals, water ice, carbonates, salts, and now organic materials”
The discovery was made when experts led by European Space Agency jetted space probe Dawn to study the surface.
Dr Simone Marchi, from the Southwest Research Institute, said: "This discovery of a locally high concentration of organics is intriguing, with broad implications for the astrobiology community.
