A TERRIFYING footage of a new house construction on Panama City Beach emerged on social media as Hurricane Michael made landfall in Florida.

The shocking video, posted by Chief Meteorologist at WDRB Marc Weinberg, shows the terrifying moment a new construction building collapsed on Panama City Beach as Hurricane Michael made landfall in Florida.

Michael has made landfall as a massive Category 4 hurricane, the biggest in the history of Florida.

Hurricanes reaching Category 3 and higher are considered major hurricanes because of their potential for significant loss of life and damage.

A Category 5 storm is classified as having winds over 157 mph - Michael is currently pounding the Gulf Coast with winds of 155 mph.

The NHC classified Hurricane Michael as an “extremely dangerous Category 4 hurricane” which is expected to cause catastrophic damage.

The hurricane has sparked mandatory evacuation of several coastal counties in Florida.

In a terrifying warning, Florida Governor Rick Scott said deadly storm surges of up to twelve feet could affect areas of Florida which “no one would survive” if they found themselves caught in their life-threatening flow.

Carl Parker of the Weather Channel set out in grim detail how storm surges could affect communities across the Florida coastline.
