The 37-year-old missed out an a “warning” about “bugs” from her This Morning colleague Phillip Schofield, he has now admitted.
The presenter, 56, failed to tell her before she flew out to Australia after speaking to spin-off Extra Camp star Joe Swash.
Speaking to the latest issue of TV Times, the father-of-two opened up about her stint on the programme, which has seen her take a break from the ITV daytime offering.
Asked if it was odd watching her in the jungle with Dec, Phillip replied: “We’re all good mates so it’s not weird.
“Unfortunately she’d gone by the time I heard that so I couldn’t warn her!” he said, before breaking into an evil laugh.
Meanwhile, he also spoke about reuniting with Holly for the latest series of Dancing On Ice, set to launch in January.
Phillip went on: “We have a brilliant line-up but everyone is intrigued by Gemma Collins.”
