THE X-FILES star Gillian Anderson has confidently posed naked in an eye-grabbing shoot for a new PETA campaign against fur.
The 49-year-old Xactress showcased her desirable physique for the black and white shot in which she carefully covered her assets and modesty with her hands.
Gillian threw back her head as she smiled proudly in the shot which featured the slogan: “I’d rather go naked than wear fur.”
The age-defying star wore just a pair of cat ears in her hair, which was styled in tight ringlets.
In a statement, the Emmy Award-winner said she found the daring shot “liberating”.
She said: “I found it liberating to use my body to make an important statement.”
Gillian added: "People tend to look away from anti-fur ads showing mangled animals, but they're drawn to PETA's 'naked' campaign, and I'm proud to be a part of it."
The brunette launched the campaign in the wake of high-profile brands such as Michael Kors and Gucci agreeing to scrap the use of fur, following years of protests by PETA.
Other brands who have acknowledged the campaign include Ralph Lauren, Vivienne Westwood, and Giorgio Armani who dropped fur after they were targeted by the exposé of rabbit-fur farms, narrated by Gillian.
