A QUESTION TIME audience member has claimed the European Union “won’t let” the UK leave without a deal as it would be too damaging to both the UK and EU.
Theresa May will meet with her cabinet on Friday at Chequers to cement Britain’s plan for the country’s future Brexit agreement with the EU.
Some leading Brexiteers have called for the UK to simply walk away from the EU with ‘no deal’.
A Question Time audience member has claimed the Brussels club will not let the UK leave with ‘no deal.
He said: “Two points as you are dealing with two similar questions. Firstly the United Kingdom will not leave the European Union without a deal.
“If we left with no deal the disaster would affect both sides severely.”
He added: “The second point about the People’s Vote. If you are going to have a People’s Vote, a People’s referendum on the deal, you cannot have a parliamentary vote at the same time.
