Dianne Oxberry’s husband Ian Hindle confirmed the news of the BBC weather star’s death in a statement obtained by the BBC. The weather presenter, who had two children with Ian, is believed to have died in hospital following a short-term illness. Today, BBC Breakfast host Dan Walker referred to Dianne as a “special person” as he reflected on his memories with her in view of his 530,000 followers. Alongside a picture of Dianne, he commented: “Dear me. This is incredibly sad. What an amazing woman Dianne was and such a professional broadcaster.
He followed up on his post, writing: “What a special person Dianne Oxberry was.
“I was privileged enough to work with her on @BBCNWT and she was as loved and admired in the office as she was by the viewers.
“Whenever you were on location everyone would tell you how much they enjoyed watching Dianne. Such sad news.”
Louise Minchin also said the North West Tonight's weather presenter will be “terribly missed”.
In view of her 143,000 followers, she commented: “Some very sad news about one of my BBC colleagues and friends @BBCNWT Dianne was a wonderful, passionate, inspiring woman, who we will all miss terribly.
