A bunch of fans and bookies had been convinced that the 36-year-old would storm to victory, with Shane Lynch, Jess Impiazzi and Wayne Sleep, coming in third, fourth, and fifth place respectively.
Courtney gained a reputation for being a force for good in the house, and used her position on the series to educate the public about LGBTQ+ issues and open up a discussion about gender and sexuality amongst the housemates.
After winning the series, Courtney said in an interview with Emma Willis: "I don't know what this means is it real life? This is amazing. It's amazing to think that the public chose me - I guess it's validation in the things that I believe in.”
And discussing that tight friendship with Andrew Brady, Courtney added: "The thing I love about Andrew is that he's so comfortable with everything and everyone... not caring about what anyone in the house thinks... I love and respect him.
“The thing that I really did respect was that we both had that understanding."

Another added: “I’ve never quite had the level of respect or praise for any #CBB housemate as I do Shane/Courtney. He represents what a true winner is all about. What an amazing result. I couldn’t be happier!”
