ANDREW NEIL ripped into Labour MP Justin Madders as he mocked the party’s Brexit chaos.
Labour has faced huge criticism over its Brexit policy with senior officials delivering different messages on aspects of the deal they would seek with the European Union.
Speaking on the BBC’s Daily Politics, Andrew Neil put Justin Madders on the spot over Labour’s position on the single market and customs union.
Neil mocked Labour’s “latest policy” on Brexit as he demanded “clarity” from the MP.
He said: “What hope does Labour then have of keeping us members of the single market and customs union which I believe is your latest party’s policy.
The Labour MP claimed that the party wanted “access to the benefits” of the European markets.
Neil replied: “But everybody has access, even North Korea has access.”
Mr Madders then clarified the party would seek “unfettered access” to markets without “barriers” and “tariffs”.
