CHRIS EVANS recently appeared on James Martin's self-titled ITV show Saturday Morning where he made a revelation about his honeymoon, which seemingly saw the chef at the centre of the confusion.
Chris Evans, 52, who was a former broadcaster on BBC Radio 2’s Breakfast Show, took the opportunity to reveal his honeymoon disaster, which left his wife, Natasha Shishmanian, “devastated”. Speaking on James Martin’s Saturday Morning last month, the DJ admitted the newlyweds had lost their passports ahead of their romantic getaway but it was chef, James Martin, who came to the rescue. He began: “It makes me cry, so you’ve got to be careful. “Well for once it wasn’t down to me. My wife and I just got married and we so supposed to go on our honeymoon. We were supposed to go on a safari.
Chris then revealed it was his wife who had seemingly lost their passports but admitted he didn’t actually want to go on safari anyway.
He continued: “Between you and I and now the nation, I didn’t really want to go on safari. So I had to pretend to be gutted.
“I phoned a pal and they said, 'I think James is down in Chewton Glen in the New Forest'.”
The married couple drove to the hotel where Chris’ pal had suggested James could possibly cook for them, as he was hosting an event there.
Upon arrival at Chewton Glen, Chris revealed: “We waited and waited. It got to like five o’clock and I hadn’t heard from James.
“We had drinks at the bar - at half past seven he [James] pitches up all smiles, ‘Hi guys, I’ve been busy with the ladies they were a bit late. I've got your dinner ready’.
“I don’t know how he did this but he had these two bespoke menus made out to look like passports.”
Chris and his wife Natasha married in 2007 and welcomed the birth of their twins in September last year.
