AN ATTEMPTED child abduction in Romford has sparked a police alert with investigators in Essex urgently appealing for information.
Police are warning members of the public to be vigilant and alert after a man allegedly attempted to abduct a child in Elm Park, Romford, Essex.
They said a man was seen walking off with a child on a bike near Bader Way, Elm Park, at around 10am on Monday July 9.
The mother saw the incident take place before the child ran back to her unharmed.
The incident took place in the borough of Havering, a densely populated suburb in east London.
At around 10.45am, Havering MPS tweeted from their official account: “Police are dealing with an attempted abduction of a child around the BADER WAY, ELM PARK.
"A male described as white, skinny build, approx. 30 years old, under 6 foot tall was seen to walk off with a child aged 6 years old on a bike.
“The mother saw this and the child came back unharmed. This happened around 10am on Monday 9th July.
