BTS Smash Taylor Swift’s Record For Biggest YouTube Debut Of All Time With 'IDOL'

The BTS domination continues as the South Korean group’s latest music video for ’IDOL’ just obliterated Taylor Swift’s YouTube record. The video, released last Friday now claims the biggest YouTube 24 hour debut of all time, having gained 45 million views.

This surpasses Swift's music video for ‘Look What You Made Me Do’, which scored 43.2 million views in its first 24 hours after its premiere at the 2017 MTV VMAs.

The news follows the release of their repackaged album on Friday, Love Yourself: ‘Answer’, which features seven new original tracks as well as a version of ‘IDOL’ with Nicki Minaj.

There’s no letting up for BTS, who also look set to score their first ever UK Top 40 single, also with ‘IDOL’, later this week. The single is currently at No.13 in the midweek charts and Love Yourself: 'Answer' is currently at No.10 in the Official UK Albums Chart update.
