BREAKING: RAF jets scrambled to deal with incident over Channel

TWO RAF jets have been scrambled to deal with an incident over the Channel.

The Typhoon jets were scrambled from RAF Coningsby at around 1.50pm this afternoon.

AirLive reports the jets were sent to deal with a French aircraft over the Channel.

The flight monitoring website said: "The two Typhons were scrambled from RAF Coningsby airbase to intercept a French aircraft over the Channel."

It is thought a plane flying over the Channel had lost communication with control towers.

Peter Harley said: “Typhoons launching about an hour ago, situation currently ongoing.”
