“According to data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, BMW, Mercedes and Audi all feature among the top ten most popular cars of 2018.”
But he added: "Typically, many of the cars in our top ten lists will be driven by those commuting or driving for longer periods on the motorway, at peak times in built-up areas, increasing the risk of an accident or conviction."
In a previous survey, BMW owners have been named as the worst on UK roads, according to 24 percent of British drivers.
