Two minor injuries units in North Devon will be closed for several days.
Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust posted on their social media page and on their website stating that it would like to “apologise for any inconvenience caused.
DevonLive.com reported yesterday that the minor injuries unit at Ilfracombe Tyrell Hospital was temporarily closed due to staff sickness.
That message from the Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust’s Twitter account stated: “It will reopen at 8am on Saturday, December 30. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
However, today’s announcement will see Ilfracombe and Bideford’s minor injuries units closed until the new year. However, the trust has not stated on their announcement why the closures have taken place.
The closures will mean people with minor injuries, injuries which do not warrant an ambulance, will have to travel to North Devon District Hospital, for medical attention.
DevonLive.com has contacted the Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust today for comments regarding the closures at Ilfracombe and Bideford.
