BBC film of police raid left me tainted for ever says Sir Cliff

SIR Cliff Richard broke down yesterday as he told a court how he thought he was going to have a stroke or a heart attack when the BBC broadcast a police raid on his home.

His lawyers are demanding “very substantial” damages at the “very top end of the scale” for what they have called a “flagrant” breach of his privacy by the BBC. It is believed that if Sir Cliff wins, he is likely to be awarded damages of around £500,000 but they might easily be higher.

That would include £200,000 in general damages and £300,000 in what is legally known as special damages.
