BARBARA WINDSOR, who is widely known for playing Peggy Mitchell in BBC soap EastEnders, has been snubbed from the soap’s Best Bits DVD cover, leaving fans annoyed.
EastEnders star Barbara Windsor, 81, played the iconic character for more than 20 years and departed from the show in 2016. Her portrayal of Peggy Mitchell saw her as the owner of the Queen Vic pub and involved in many more memorable storylines. Fans were quick to notice that Barbara has not been included on The Best of EastEnders DVD cover, which features two hours of the soap’s greatest moments. Instead, the DVD cover features the likes of Kat Slater (played by Jessie Wallace), Alfie Moon (Shane Ritchie) and Dot Cotton (June Brown).
Former EastEnders actress Danniella Westbrook, 45, took to her Twitter to give her say, writing: “Wish Babs was on the cover x.”
A second commented: “Peggy was the queen vic she should be centre Ethel too.”
According to the Daily Mail, a BBC spokesperson told them Barbara does appear in the DVD and shows her character on the back cover and sleeve of the DVD case.
Express.co.uk has contacted a representative for Barbara for a comment.
Back in May, Barbara’s husband Scott Mitchell, 55, spoke openly about Barbara’s Alzheimer's for the first time, four years after her diagnosis.
In a candid chat with The Sun, he revealed the actress is taking medication for the degenerative brain disease.
