Argos enters the hot tub war with a bank holiday bargain

Aldi led the way with insanely popular cut-price inflatable pool

IN the ‘90s, the big retailers entered a price war over bread. Twenty years on, it’s all about hot tubs .

After Aldi roused a flurry of interest from British shoppers when they revealed an inflatable backyard hot tub for a reasonable £399 , Argos has joined in with a fizzy pool bargain of its own.

Anyone who would like to relax after a hard day in warm bubbling waters, perhaps with a cool drink in one hand and a good book in the other, then the Miami Lay-Z Spa hot tub could be just for you. It seats up to four bathers.

You can order it online just now for £299 . That’s £100 less than Aldi’s bargain hot tub.

When we checked the Argos website, the tub can be delivered 'within 19 days' to the Liverpool address we used as a reference point. Delivery prices start at £6.95.

As a comparison, Tesco is selling it for £339 and Toys R Us has it online at £349.99. That's a saving of between £40 and £50.
